§ 9-84-4. Coin-operated vending devices—Use of automatic shutoff nozzle with hold-open latch.

  • A.

    Except as authorized herein, all coin-operated, card-operated and similar type automatic customer-operated vending devices for the dispensing of gasoline or other flammable liquids are prohibited.

    B.

    The use of automatic shutoff nozzles with hold-open latches is prohibited where the dispensing of gasoline or other flammable liquids to the tanks of motor vehicles is performed by anyone other than a regularly designated approved employed attendant of the service station, or an individual holding a valid and current driver's license. The owner or operator of the self-service station or center, or his or her representative, shall inspect daily the hold-open latches of the nozzles to insure that they are in proper operating order.
