§ 9-76-2. Well digger's permit.

  • No person shall engage in drilling, boring, digging or other constructing or repairing wells in the city without a permit from the department of health. Such permit shall be granted by the health department to any person upon application properly approved by the health officer, and such permit shall be in force and effect for one year from the date of its issuance. The health officer shall have the power and it shall be his or her duty to revoke any permit issued where it is made to appear that the provisions of this chapter have been violated by the person engaged in well construction. The holder of such permit shall, after such revocation, have the right of appeal to the city council.
