§ 9-76-14. Independent piping system for nonpotable supply—Statement as to nonexistence of cross connections.

  • A.

    Whenever the water supply of the light, gas and water division or a quasi-public water supply is used for drinking and a nonpotable water supply is used for fire protection, industrial or other purposes, such nonpotable water supply shall be distributed through an independent piping system having no cross connection with the water supply of the light, gas and water division, or the quasi-public water supply, and shall not be rendered available for drinking or other personal or domestic uses.

    B.

    Any person whose premises are supplied with water from the light, gas and water division, and who shall also have on the same premises a separate source of water supply that is nonpotable, but is circulated through a piping system, shall file with the light, gas and water division a statement of the nonexistence of cross connections.
