§ 9-76-13. Equipment to prevent commingling with public supply.

  • Whenever a cross connection may be made or now exists between the water supply of the light, gas and water division and any quasi-public water supply, such quasi-public water supply shall be equipped with gate valves, check valves and bleeder or test valves for the purpose of preventing the commingling of water, except as when desired, and to insure the means of immediate and complete separation during any possible emergency when commingling would not be approved. Such valve or valves must be installed by the owner of private supply in such a manner as to meet the approval of the department of health and the light, gas and water division.
