§ 9-72-2. Permit to operate—Supervision of registration.
A.
It is unlawful for any person to operate a personal care home as defined in this chapter without having first registered such establishment with, and received a permit and other certifications from, the health department.
B.
An initial fee of $50.00 shall be paid to the health department by the owner, operator, or provider prior to issuance of such permit, and thereafter such permit to operate personal care homes must be renewed annually by the owner, operator, or provider at an annual fee of $50.00. All permits must be purchased prior to January 1 of the ensuing year. This permit is not transferable.
C.
Supervision of registration of the personal care home shall be the responsibility of the health department.
