§ 6-8-12. Exemptions from chapter.

The following persons are exempt from the provisions of this chapter while in the proper discharge of their professional duties:

A.

Persons authorized by the laws of this state to practice medicine and surgery;

B.

Commissioned medical or surgical officers of the United States army, navy, air force or marine hospital services;

C.

Registered nurses;

D.

Persons engaged in the practice of beauty culture; operating in beauty shops or beauty salons only, and licensed pursuant to T.C.A. title 62, chapter 4, "Cosmetologists."
