 Chapter 2-11. CHARTER COMMISSION

  § 2-11-2. Qualifications of candidates.

  • The qualifications for each candidate for each position shall be as follows:

    A.

    Position 1. Each candidate for Position 1 shall have been a resident, voter and taxpayer of the city for not less than one year preceding his or her election. Each candidate for Position 1 shall also have resided in Council District 1 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    B.

    Position 2. Each candidate for Position 2 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 2 shall have resided in Council District 2 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    C.

    Position 3. Each candidate for Position 3 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 3 shall have resided in Council District 3 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    D.

    Position 4. Each candidate for Position 4 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 4 shall have resided in Council District 4 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    E.

    Position 5. Each candidate for Position 5 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 5 shall have resided in Council District 5 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    F.

    Position 6. Each candidate for Position 6 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 6 shall have resided in Council District 6 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.

    G.

    Position 7. Each candidate for Position 7 shall have and possess the same qualifications as a candidate for Position 1, except that each candidate for Position 7 shall have resided in Council District 7 for not less than six months preceding his or her election.
