§ 9-8-7. Birth and death certificates.

The vital statistics division of the department of health shall have authority to issue transcripts and photostatic copies of births and deaths, or certified copies of births and deaths occurring prior to 1914, and charge therefor a sum to be fixed by the health officer not to exceed $4.00 each to be paid upon delivery of same.
