§ 9-72-10. Removal of sick resident.

  • A.

    The provider shall make arrangement with a licensed physician/licensed hospital or licensed nursing home to transfer nonambulatory/nonindependently mobile residents who require skilled nursing care, intermediate nursing care, or more technical nursing or medical services.

    B.

    When notified by the health department, the provider shall do so within ten days of such notification. Less time may be given by the health department, when, in the opinion of the health officer, a resident's life or health requires immediate medical attention. The provider must report these emergencies and imminent situations to the state Department of Human Services. The responsibility for the resident's care shall rest with the provider.
