§ 9-64-7. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases all have the meanings set out below, unless the context indicates to the contrary.

    Fish pool is a pool constructed of concrete or other impervious material to hold water, as frequently built in a garden, usually for the purpose of beautifying the premises where situated, and which contains less than one acre of water surface at the normal pool level, and whether used for the purpose of containing fish or lilies or other vegetation.

    Lake is an impoundage of water of more than one acre of water surface at the normal pool level, whether it is for the purpose of beautification, recreation and fish, industrial mining, chemical waste, sewage treatment or other uses.

    Pool is a collection of water containing less than one acre of water surface at the normal pool level and used for the purpose of beautification, recreation, industrial mining, chemical waste, sewage treatment or uses other than fish containment.
