§ 9-20-10. Fees.
A.
There shall be a fee charged for each patient transported by an ambulance operated by the fire services division under this chapter, except that for any trip on behalf of a city employee on duty, there shall be no charge. No fee shall be charged for any passenger accompanying the patient, provided consent is given by the driver of the ambulance to such accompanying passenger.
B.
In the event that members of the same immediate family living under the same roof (husband, wife and/or children) are transported to one hospital, the charge will be considered one charge, regardless of the number of members of the family, except that if more than one stop is made an additional fee will a charged for each stop, or if more than one ambulance is used an additional fee will be charged for each ambulance.
C.
In the event that members of separate families are transported in the same ambulance, the charge will be a separate fee for each of the families.
D.
There shall be a fee charged where an emergency call is made, but it is determined by the ambulance attendants that on-the-scene-treatment is adequate without transporting a patient to the hospital or when further treatment is waived by the patient.
E.
Fees for such calls shall be fixed by the director of fire services.
F.
Such fees shall be paid into a special general fund revenue account, separate from all other revenues.
