§ 9-16-4. Contents confidential.
The information contained in an alarm user permit application required by this section and other information received by the alarm administrator through correspondence or communications with an alarm user shall be securely maintained and restricted to inspection only by the alarm administrator or certain officers or city employees specifically assigned the responsibility for handling and processing alarm user permits in the course of official duties. If the alarm administrator, police director or any employee of the city is found to have knowingly or willfully revealed the information contained in an alarm user permit application or in correspondence or communications with an alarm user to any other person other than the alarm user or the alarm user's licensed alarm business for any purpose other than an official law enforcement matter without the express written consent of the alarm user and the alarm business, the alarm administrator and the city employee shall be guilty of a violation of this chapter and chapters 2-28 through 2-36 and subject to the fines and penalties set out in section 1-24-1 of this Code or section 1-4 of the Code of Shelby County, whichever is applicable.
