§ 8-28-5. Enforcement.

Memphis Animal Services, which is the department under the division of public services and neighborhoods, is charged with the enforcement of this chapter. Animal control officers (ACOs) are the agents of the city which are generally charged with compliance activities. ACOs shall issue citations under this chapter only as a secondary offense to another violation of this title, including but not limited to: dogs running at large; defecation by dogs and cats; and dangerous and vicious animals.
