§ 2-8-7. Claim agent in attorney's office.

  • The city claim agent shall be appointed by the city attorney. He or she shall be attached to the city attorney's office and shall hold office at the will and pleasure of the city attorney. He or she shall investigate all claims for damages against the city; shall attend to the settlement of such claims under the direction of the city attorney; shall keep a docket of all lawsuits pending in which the city is a party; and assist in the preparation of such cases for trial; and shall perform such other duties as the city attorney may from time to time direct.
