§ 2-74-1. Establishment.
A.
Designation; membership. There is established a permanent commission designated and known as the "Aging Commission of the Mid-South," such commission to consist of seven members. The commission shall consist of two elected officials of the city, or their designees, two elected officials of the county, and their designees, and one elected official each, or their designee, from Fayette, Lauderdale and Tipton Counties.
B.
Members' terms of office. Members shall serve during their terms of elected office or, if a designee, at the will and pleasure of elected officials.
C.
Compensation of members; organization; election of officers; rules and procedure . All members of such commission shall serve without pay and shall organize, elect officers, and adopt such rules and procedures consistent with existing laws as are necessary for the conduct of its affairs and performance of its functions and responsibilities. The aforesaid commission on aging shall, following concurrence and ratification by all members, adopt the necessary bylaws governing its operation.
