§ 2-60-1. Designation; membership.

  • A.

    There shall hereafter be established an advisory council to be known as the Memphis Advisory Council on Human Services, whose members shall be of lawful age and residents of the county.

    B.

    The advisory council shall consist of members nominated by the Memphis Human Services Board and appointed by the mayor subject to concurrence by the city council. The advisory council shall be composed of at least one representative from each of the following service categories:

    1.

    Education;

    2.

    Employment;

    3.

    Environment;

    4.

    Health;

    5.

    Housing;

    6.

    Income maintenance;

    7.

    Protection/safety/justice;

    8.

    Social adjustment and development.

    C.

    In addition, there shall be at least one representative from each of those organizations within the city whose purpose is to coordinate or provide for human services in the community, including, but not limited to, aging, labor, community chest, religious, community or emergency services.
