§ 2-4-3. Oath of office.
Before entering upon the performance of his or her duties, every officer of the city shall subscribe the following oath, which shall be filed with the comptroller and preserved by him or her:
"I do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Tennessee, the laws and ordinances of this city, and that I will faithfully demean myself while in office. So help me God."
