§ 2-46-5. Memphis-Shelby County Health Department duties.

  • The duties and authorities of the Memphis-Shelby County Health Department as they pertain to this chapter shall be as follows:

    A.

    Technical and administrative support for the board shall be provided by the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department herein referred to as the "health department." Such support shall include but is not limited to, permit issuance, projects, programs, investigations, and enforcement procedures as assigned and within the jurisdiction of the board.

    B.

    The director of the health department or his or her representative shall serve as technical secretary to the board.

    C.

    Nothing contained in this chapter shall supersede the authority of the health department to enforce any rules and/or regulations under the express jurisdiction of the health department unless otherwise stated in this chapter or agreed to by the health department.
