§ 2-34-1. Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

Commander of security service is the person charged with supervision of the public housing security services unit.

Community service officer is any person who accepts employment by the city for the purpose of policing, watching and guarding the property or premises and surrounding areas. He or she shall be authorized to carry firearms only while on duty.

Rules and regulations shall be the procedure established by the director of police services, and will embody the responsibilities and duties of all personnel assigned to this unit.

Service areas shall be the area which includes the housing project named by the director of police services and any adjacent territories which are designated to be patrolled by members of be public housing security services unit. Each area shall be specified by boundaries and/or streets, alleys or public way.
