§ 2-24-3. Right of entry.

  • A.

    The members of the fire services division shall have the right to enter all buildings, structures and premises while fighting fires necessary to combat or bring such fires under control; and, further, the members of the fire services division, or any person designated by the director of fire services division or his or her designee, subject to the conditions hereinafter provided, shall have the right at reasonable hours to enter any building or premise for the purpose of making inspections.

    B.

    Persons, other than the members of the fire services division who are designated by the director of fire services division or his or her designee to make inspection of properties, shall successfully complete special training and certification prior to making such inspections. Inspection sites and properties shall be specifically limited to those listed by the director or his or her designee. Reports shall be directed to the fire marshal's office for disposition as they deem proper.
