§ 2-24-14. Copies of fire marshal's reports of fires; fees.
A.
A complete copy or photostat of a report made in connection with any fire by the fire marshal's office of the fire services division shall be furnished as soon as practicable to the equitable or legal owner of the property involved upon acceptable identification, or anyone authorized in writing by such parties to receive same, upon surrender of such authorization. Such report shall contain the following information:
1.
Address of fire;
2.
Date and time of fire;
3.
Type of building and number of floors;
4.
How occupied;
5.
Occupant and manager;
6.
Owner and/or tenant, with address and phone number;
7.
Fire discovered by whom, with address and phone number;
8.
Area where fire started;
9.
Name, address and phone number of person who turned in alarm;
10.
Cause of fire;
11.
Estimate of damage or loss to building and contents;
12.
Investigators;
13.
A statement of the condition of the nearest fire hydrant.
B.
Upon request, copies shall be mailed to the applicant. In the event any person authorized to receive a copy of the fire marshal's fire report is incapacitated by disability from executing an authorization or otherwise unavailable to furnish such authorization, then the director of fire services shall be authorized to furnish copies as provided herein, upon written request of any person demonstrating his or her representation of an otherwise authorized party, as attorney, insurance representative, or any other bona fide interest. The director of fire services is authorized to fix a standard charge for copies of such reports not to exceed $10.00 for the first copy and $1.00 per page for each additional copy, and shall designate a period of not less than two hours daily, except Saturday and Sunday, during business hours, when such report shall be available, as above provided.
