A.
A comprehensive block map of the city prepared by H. G. Feree and Herbert T. Knapp, civil engineers, and identified by the signatures of Rowlett Paine, Mayor, Thos. H. Allen, Harry N. Howe, Horace Johnson and Charles R. Shannon, commissioners, is accepted as a map of the territory within the corporate limits of the city, as of January 1, 1926.
B.
The office of planning and development is constituted and appointed the official custodian of the city block map, and a copy thereof shall at all times be kept open to the inspection of the public without charge. It shall be the duty of the office of planning and development to invite criticisms and suggestions of errors on the map as prepared from title examiners, abstract companies, real estate agents, owners of property, and others interested in having prepared a complete and accurate map of all territories within the corporate limits, and to correct errors when and if found, noting such corrections upon such map. All departments of the city shall furnish on request to the office of planning and development all available data which might aid the office of planning and development in the preparation of a comprehensive block map.
C.
It is made the duty of the office of planning and development to study the city block map, to compare the same with all other available data recorded in the office of the county register, on file with any department of the city, or available from other sources, with the purpose of finding, noting and correcting any errors on such map. It shall likewise be the duty of the office of planning and development to bring such map up to date by noting thereon all subdivisions or resubdivisions of land within the corporate limits of the city, and by causing a block and lot number to be assigned to any lands not shown on such map, and all lands coming into the corporate limits after January 1, 1926.
D.
The office of planning and development is authorized to make all rules and regulations and formulate all plans for the completion of the city blocks map not inconsistent with the provisions of this section, and shall supervise the expenditure of and expend such sums in the collection of data and the preparation of such map as may be allocated to such purpose, from year to year, by the city council.
