§ 14-16-57. Procedure when compliance with article increases weight of elevator.

Where compliance with this article increases the weight of the elevator car, additional weight shall be added to the counterweight, where considered necessary by the director, in order to secure safe operation of the elevator. In every such case, all parts affected by the increased weight shall be checked to determine whether they will safely sustain the increased load and where necessary shall be reinforced or replaced with parts of adequate strength.
