§ 12-56-25. Manholes—Construction—Size—Control—Costs.
A.
The using agency shall construct all the manholes required for putting wires underground in accord with this article, and the cost of constructing and maintaining such manholes shall be borne and prorated among the companies using the same in proportion to the number of ducts entering such manholes.
B.
All such manholes shall be constructed of such size and character as will enable them to accommodate 50 percent more ducts than all the companies entering them will at first require. Such manholes shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the city engineer.
C.
After such manholes have been constructed, they shall be under the absolute control of the city, or some officer designated by the city, to be used and occupied by such companies for the purpose of connecting their conduits and ducts therewith.
D.
Companies constructing and maintaining manholes shall file with the director of public works itemized, full and complete statements of the cost of constructing and maintaining such manholes.
